Kingston Riding Centre is well equiped to provide enjoyable childrens horse and pony riding lessons in London and Surrey.
We offer childrens riding lessons for children of all ages and of all levels of experience.
Even if this is the first ever childrens pony riding lesson your son or daughter will be taking or perhaps they have been building their confidence through regular pony riding lessons, our very best skilled instructors are available to assess your childs current level of skill and provide the very best teaching techniques to develop their abilities and gain confidence in riding horses or ponies.
Pony riding is a fun can be a form of healthy exercise for children of all ages. It can also develop their self-confidence, awareness and responsibility and take away any fear associated with horses or ponies.
Kington Riding Centre is situated on the edge of Richmond Park and this is where many of our riding lessons take place. This is a very safe location in which to have riding lesson. It is important to us that your children is safe at all times and enjoy their pony riding lessons as well and grow their abilities and skills.
Kingston Riding Centre provide the perfect balance of education and enjoyment for children to ride a ponies and horses, meet other riders of similar ages and enjoy other riding events and demonstrations.
We are a approved Riding and Training Center. Being a BHS approved means that you can feel completely reassured that your chidrens riding lessons are taking place in an establishment that is annually inspected to ensure that our instructors, levels of safety and quality of horse care meet their the very highest standards.
Pony Club Members
We are also very proud to be part of the
Centre membership scheme where children can join the Pony Club without the necessity of owning their own pony.
Over the past few years demand has grown and we now have three Pony Club groups with the possibility of needing to start a fourth.
We run courses consecutively with achievement badges hopefully being gained every six weeks which can help members on their way to their D or D+ tests.
The tests are recognised throughout the Pony Club and The British Horse Society where they can be used as the first stepping stones into entering qualifications within the horse industry.
We at Kingston Riding Centre are honoured to be part of the Pony Club Centre membership scheme where children can join the club without the need of owning their own pony.
We encourage all the children here to join the Pony Club and become more knowledge about how to care for their pony and also be able to pass the Pony Club test…. More Pony Club info.
Own a Pony for a Day
Here at Kingston Riding Centre, you can own a pony for a day. Its the next best thing to owning your own pony. The children will spend the day learning about their pony, grooming and taking care of it as well as learning to ride.

Essential Riding Clothes
All the riders are required to wear jodphurs or ankle length trousers. They will also need boots with a small heel (sandals, shoes and trainers are unacceptable).
Hard hats are essential must meet the current British safety standards. These must be worn at all times when mounted. We have hard hats available to hire at a cost of £1:00. Children are required to arrive 15 minutes before the ride.

Children’s Holiday Courses
Children’s holiday courses here at Kingston Riding centre are held each school holiday. These courses are for children from 8 years upwards. Usually they run from Tuesday to Friday 2pm until 4pm.
What the children can expect is to spend one hour riding in a small group in the indoor school and have one hour stable management tuition learning all the basics of horse care.
On last day of the coursework, they have gymkhana games (riding competition) with rosettes and a small check on their stable management knowledge. It has always been important to us that the children are improving their skills and knowledge and becoming more confident around horses.
We do offer a 5% discount for two or more children attending the course from the same family.
